President William Ruto on Friday made five new appointments to different state parastatals.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, October 27, President Ruto appointed former Cherangany Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny as the Chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board.
His appointment took effect October 27, and he will serve for three years.
Ruto has named Retired chief of defence forces Julius Waweru Karangi as the Chancellor of the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DEKUT).
Referring to section 38(1) of the Universities Act,2012, Ruto installed Karangi as DEKUT Chancellor for a period of five years effective from November 1,2023.
Additionally, the president reappointed Dr. Sally Jepngetich Kosgei as the Chancellor of Taita Taveta University.
“I William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force reappoint Sally Jepngetich Kosgei (Dr) to be the Chancellor of Taita Taveta University for a period of five years with effect from the 1st of November 2023,” read the notice.
Similarly, President Ruto reappointed Prof. Paul Musili Wambua as the Chancellor of the University of Embu.
Prof. Wambua will serve for a period of five years beginning from November 1, 2023.
Moreover, Ruto also reappointed Kirinyaga University Chancellor Dr. Fred Ojiambo.
Dr. Ojiambo will serve for another five years starting from November 2023.

More Ruto allies get jobs
Cabinet Secretaries (CS) also made several appointments to parastatal boards.
Education CS Ezekiel Machogu appointed Eusilah Jepkosgei Ngeny as a member of the Council of the Moi University.
Ngeny will hold the position for three years effective November 3, 2023.
Further, Lands CS Alice Wahome named Eng. Benard Ngore to be a member of the National Construction Appeals Board.
The appointment will last for three years with effect from October 27, 2023.
Trade CS Rebecca Miano appointed Consumer Federation of Kenya (Cofek) boss Stephen Mutoro to be a member of the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute for a period of three years.
Moreover, CS for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage Aisha Jumwa named Valentine Wanjiru Ndungu, Bethwel Kiplagat Kirior and Suleiman Issack Ali as members of the Kenya National Library Services Board.
The three will hold their positions for a period of two years with effect from October 27, 2023.
Additionally, Environment CS Soipan Tuya appointed Dr. Erick Kipkoech Korir, Roney Mayow Yussuf, Mary Wanjiku Kinyua and Judy Ngeny as members of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund.
Their appointments will last for three years with effect from October 27, 2023.
Tourism CS Alfred Mutua named Francis Nkoitoi as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wildlife Research and Training Institute for a period of three years effective October 27, 2023.

Also, Health CS Susan Nakhumicha appointed Ashford Mwiti Kirimi Kathaara as a member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
His appointment will run for a period of three years with effect from October 27,2023.
Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi appointed Daniel Leshan Seitai to be a member of the Board of the Agricultural Development Corporation.
Furthermore, the CS named Samuel Mania as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service.
In addition, Linturi appointed Caroline Chemutai Temoi as a member of the Board of Directors of Nzoia Sugar Company.
All the appointments by CS Linturi will last for three years with effect from October 27.
