Politicians rejected by voters in the August 2022 general elections have been shortlisted for the positions of Cabinet Administrative Secretary (CAS) positions.
The Public Service Commission has shortlisted 224 candidates for the posts.
The shortlisting comes days after the court threw out a case filed by the Law Society of Kenya, challenging the legality of the CAS position.
Notable names on the shortlist include Millicent Omanga who lost the Nairobi Woman Representative race to Esther Pasaris and Cleophas Malala who lost the Kakamega gubernatorial race to Fernandes Barasa.
Former Kirinyaga County woman MP Purity Ngirici who lost to Anne Waiguru in the gubernatorial race is also on the list.

Other election losers who made it to the shortlist include Catherine Waruguru (Laikipia East MP aspirant), Isaac Mwaura (Ruiru MP aspirant), Bishop Magret Wajiru (Nairobi Senator) and Evans Kidero (Homa Bay governor aspirant)
Former governors Patrick Simiyu Khaemba (Trans Nzoia), James Ongwae (Kisii), Moses Lenolkulal (Samburu) and Samuel Tunai (Narok) also appear on the shortlist.
Journalists Dennis Itumbi, Linda Ogutu and Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Bonnie Musambi have also been shortlisted for interviews.
Ruto loyalists including former MPs Caleb Kositany, Gideon Keter, Wilson Sossion, Mary Yian, Kimani Ngunjiri, Anuar Loitiptip and Charles Njagua, alias Jaguar have also been shortlisted.
A total of 600 Kenyans submitted the applications for the positions.
