Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot was on Tuesday, October 4, named Senate Majority leader in the house’s first sitting.
Senate speaker Amason Kingi officially announced the hierarchy of the House, adding that Cheruiyot will be deputized by Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja.
Moreover, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was named the Majority Whip position and deputized by his Samburu counterpart Steve Lelegwe.
The minority leader and deputy minority leader spots were handed to Kilifi Senator Steward Madzayo and his Kitui counterpart Enoch Wambua, respectively.
Furthermore, Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo was announced as senate as Minority Whip to be deputized by her Narok counterpart Ledama Ole Kina.

Musician Crystal Asige was also sworn in as nominated senator.
Nonetheless, the new senate leadership was announced after Senate held first regular sitting Tuesday, October 4 afternoon after the official opening of the 13th Parliament by President William Ruto last week.
In addition, the senate Speaker rejected attempts by Azimio to challenge the Kenya Kwanza ‘s majority status on the floor of the House.
This came after some Azimio senators claimed that Kenya Kwanza ceased to be the majority coalition following the resignation of Moses Wetangula as Bungoma senator and the nomination of two senators to the Cabinet by President William Ruto.
