Two suspects and a lady linked to a shooting and robbery incident involving Ksh3.9 million in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area on March 30 have been found dead.

The bodies were found in different places in Nairobi and Kiambu County and have since been taken to the City Mortuary.

The body of the shooter identified as Fredrick Kopo was collected in the Lari area of Kiambu County while that of a lady identified as Esther was found in Juja and the rider identified as Jaylen Kibe was found in a separate location.

Autopsy Results & Burial

Autopsy results revealed Jaylen died as a result of drowning.

He was buried on Tuesday at Kariokor cemetery following Islamic culture requiring the deceased to be buried within 24 hours after death.

Burial arrangements for Esther, believed to be his girlfriend, are ongoing at the Kiamaiko area in Nairobi County.

Fredricks’s body is, however, still lying at the City Mortuary.

CCTV Captures Eastleigh Robbery

In the incident captured on CCTV, businessman Adan Ali Mohamed was riding on a motorbike on Eastleigh’s Muratina Street when a gunman attacked him and made away with the cash.

The gang was also riding on another motorbike in the same direction as Adan’s at around 11am on Saturday March 30.

Moments before the shooting, the motorbike carrying the gunman overtook the one Adan was riding on. It suddenly stopped and the gunman jumped and approached the victim.

He demanded a green bag carrying the money and when Adan hesitated, he shot him in the neck.

He then grabbed the bag, jumped onto the motorbike and the rider sped off and got lost in the busy traffic.

Adan fell off the motorcycle and a crowd started gathering around him after the attacker escaped.

The police said Adan had gone to deposit the money at one of the banks at BBS Mall.

When he arrived, he found the bank closed and took a bodaboda back home driving through the busy Eastleigh town.

He was not aware that the gang had information about the cash and was following him.

Suspects Arrested in Mombasa

Police arrested one of the suspects in Mombasa on April 4.

The man had been placed at the crime scene and was on the radar of the detectives who trailed him from Nairobi to Mombasa

According to the police, the suspect was caught as he was waiting to buy a personal car.

The suspect was brought back to Nairobi and placed in police custody as the search for his other team members continued.

However, the detectives did not reveal whether they recovered part of the stolen Ksh3.9 million.

“We have a suspect, and he is being brought to Nairobi. The man had gone to buy a car in Mombasa using some of the cash robbed from the victim in hospital,” said an official aware of the probe.
