Tana River County registered a total of 141,096voters ahead of the 2022 general elections, according to data released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The county, which lies in the former Coast Province, is one of Kenya’s 47 counties and is named after the Tana River, the country’s longest river.
Among the three constituencies in the county, Garsen registered the highest number of voters with 55,453, followed by Bura with 45,678 and Galole with 39,965.
These figures reflect the political and demographic weight each constituency holds within the region.
Tana River County spans an area of approximately 35,375.8 square kilometres and is home to an estimated population of 380,684 people.

Its administrative headquarters is in Hola. The county is subdivided into five administrative sub-counties: Tana Delta, Tana River, Tana North, Galedyertu and Bangal.

Representation in Parliament includes Ali Wario Guyo for Garsen Constituency, Said Hiribae for Galole Constituency and Wario Ali Member of Parliament for Bura Constituency.
Additionally, Amina Dika serves as the Women Representative for Tana River County.

The Tana River, Kenya’s longest river, stretches over 1,000 kilometers from the Aberdare Mountains to the Indian Ocean.
