Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, August 5 paid a courtesy call to Uganda President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House, Entebbe Uganda.
Uhuru Kenyatta who is also the facilitator of the East Africa Community – led Peace Process, and President Museveni deliberated on the ongoing Peace Processes aimed at realizing peace and stability in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Retired President Uhuru was appointed by the East Africa Community (EAC) Heads of State to facilitate the peace process in Democratic Republic of Congo on July 27, 2022.
Uhuru is to spearhead peace talks and promote security in the region.

Moreover, the two leaders also talked about the security situation in the East African Community (EAC) region.
In his socials, Museveni thanked Uhuru Kenyatta for visiting adding that he went in his capacity as the facilitator of the Democratic Republic of Congo Peace Process.
“I received former President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, in his capacity as the facilitator of the Democratic Republic of Congo Peace Process. We had meaningful discussions and I thank him for coming.” Museveni wrote in a tweet.

Nonetheless, several other Ugandan and Kenyan leaders including John Mulimba, Uganda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs, Amb. Macharia Kamau and Brigadier (Rtd) Elijah Mwanyika flanked Uhuru and Museveni in the meeting.
