Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has declared her net worth at Ksh5 billion. The governor was responding to a curious Facebook follower who asked about her wealth.
In a post shared on Saturday, September 21, Wavinya revealed her interest in farming noting that she had spent the day at her farm.
The Machakos Governor also shared photos taken in her maize plantation and other crops grown in her expansive farm to spark comments from her followers.
“A day well spent at the farm. Do what you love to do and be around things that make you smile,” the governor posted.
In one of the comments, a follower asked about her net worth, and she emphatically responded noting that she is not poor.
“I am not a poor girl and I thank God. More than 5b in Totality,” she wrote.
Her response came on the back of a controversy sparked by reports stating that she had been detained by authorities in London over an alleged attempt to deposit a huge sum of money during her trip abroad in early September.
She, however, dispelled the reports and attributed the news she termed false to attempts by her political opponents to fight her.
