The Kenya Met Department (KMD) has said sunny and dry weather conditions will continue across most parts of the country for the next seven days.
In its weekly weather outlook, the weatherman indicated that most regions across the country will continue to experience sunny and dry conditions.
Additionally, the KMD stated that 25 regions spanning from Western Kenya, the Coast, and Northern Kenya, will maintain the dry weather patterns throughout the timeframe.
These regions will also have high temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
“High average daytime temperatures (> 30°C) likely in Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, and Mombasa,” said the weatherman.
Among other listed counties are Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Nairobi, Laikipia, Baringo, West Pokot, Bungoma, Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga, and Narok.
However, some areas in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Kirinyaga may experience low night-time temperatures, dropping below 10°C.
Even with the prevailing dry conditions, specific regions should remain prepared for rainfall, as indicated by the weatherman.
These areas include the Central Highlands, South- Western Kenya, South-eastern lowlands, and the Coast.
Residents in these regions are advised to prepare for the possibility of rain and its associated effects on travel and outdoor activities.

Kenya Met Speaking Earlier About the Dry Spell
Previously, the Kenya Meteorological Department clarified that the decrease in moisture levels was attributed to delays in the movement of rain-carrying pressure systems.
“The current dry weather conditions are attributed to Tropical Cyclone “#FILIPO” in the Mozambican Channel, delaying the northward move of the rain-bearing Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). As a result, moisture influx into Kenya has significantly reduced, leading to continued sunny and dry weather conditions over much of the country.
“This dry spell, initially forecasted, may persist into the beginning of the fourth week of March and may extend to the western half of the country,” read the statement in part.
Weatherman States Temperature Ranges in Different Regions
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, encompassing Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, and Trans Nzoia, are forecasted to experience maximum temperatures ranging from 32°C to 33°C.
Other regions listed to have the temperature range are Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
The minimum temperatures across the regions will vary from 9°C to 11°C.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi Counties, are expected to experience maximum temperatures ranging from 30°C to 32°C.
Moreover, their minimum temperatures will be between 6°C-10°C.
In the southeastern lowlands (Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta), as well as along the Coast, maximum temperatures are expected to peak at 34°C to 36°C.
Along the Coast, minimum temperatures will range from 24°C to 26°C, while in the southeastern lowlands, minimum temperatures will range between 12°C and 14°C.
