The Kenya Met Department (KMD) has issued a forecast announcing sunny and dry weather conditions across most parts of the country for the next seven days.
The forecast covers the period of March 12th to March 18th, 2024.
“Sunny and Dry Conditions: Most parts of the country can expect predominantly sunny and dry weather during this period,” Kenya Met advised.
It further indicated that 26 regions from Western Kenya, the Coast, and Northern Kenya, will experience dry weather patterns during the time frame.
“High daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C are expected in Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, and Kilifi,” Kenya Met said.
Other regions listed are Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Laikipia, Baringo, West Pokot, Bungoma, Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga, and Narok.

The maximum temperatures in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley regions will be ranging from 29°C- 32°C while the minimum temperatures will be between 10°C- 13°C.
Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related health issues and to stay hydrated.
Other Areas to Experience Moderate Rainfall
Despite the overall dry outlook, certain regions may experience light to moderate rainfall.
These areas include the Central Highlands, the South-eastern lowlands, and parts of the Coast.
Southeastern lowlands include Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties.
Residents in these regions are advised to remain vigilant and prepare accordingly for possible precipitation events.
In contrast to the high daytime temperatures, the forecast also announced low nighttime temperatures in some parts of the country.
“Low Nighttime Temperatures: Conversely, average nighttime temperatures are expected to be low, dropping below 10°C in specific parts of some counties,” Met said.
These counties include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Kirinyaga counties.
The weatherman however advised the residents to stay informed and be prepared for the varying weather conditions across the country during this period.

Previous Week’s Met Forecast in The Regions
Day-time temperatures showed varied trends, with increases and decreases observed in different areas.
Night-time temperatures also fluctuated across the regions.
Mandera County recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of 39.8°C while Nyahururu reported lowest daily minimum temperature of 6.8°C.
Rainfall received across various regions, including Highlands East/West of Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, North-eastern Kenya, and South-eastern lowlands.
Very heavy rainfall was recorded in Busia, Makueni, Taita Taveta, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii, Trans Nzoia and Kakamega.
