The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has withdraw terror charges against Standard Media group journalist Laban Cliff Onserio.
This is after the court allowed an application made by the DPP to have the matter withdrawn on grounds that there is no sufficient evidence .
Onserio was arrested by detectives from the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) on Sunday, December 18 2022, and was said to be in possession of a grenade.
He had allegedly threatened to use it to attack security guards.
He was arrested at the Holy Family Basilica basement after an altercation with the church’s security guards .

The journalist had gone to pick up his car at the cathedral’s commercial parking lot.
Detectives conducted a search on Onserio’s car and allegedly found a stun grenade.
He was presented before the anti-terror court and the police were ordered to release him if they do not prefer charges against him.
