Migori governor Okoth Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and former Migori County clerk Caspal Obiero’s murder case continued on Thursday, July 14 with two witnesses telling the court they fabricated medical documents upon request by Mr. Oyamo.
While speaking to the court, Cliff Momanyi, a clinical officer, said he received Ksh. 1,500 to fabricate a medical document to lie that Obado’s personal assistant Oyamo had been attacked by unknown people on the night Rongo University student Sharon Otieno was murdered.
“All the medical documents were forgeries… I am the one who did the forgeries and received Ksh.1,500… I regret my actions,” Momanyi told the court.
Moreover, the three suspects including governor Obado are charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby on September 3, 2018.
Likewise, another witness identified as Justus Magati Moindi told the court that he was approached by Caspal and Oyamo to help forge a medical report that Oyamo required specialized treatment at a hospital in Kisumu where his medical insurance would cater for the bill. According to the witness, this happened a day after Sharon was murdered.

Moindi further told the court that the two suspects told him that Oyamo had been attacked by unknown people while in possession of a lot of money belonging to his boss governor Okoth Obado.
“When the two came, Caspal told me that they had a problem and they wanted to see me privately. I asked whether it was related to medical treatment and they said yes. I asked them to go and buy a card at the reception but they told me before they could buy, they wanted to talk to me,” Moindi stated.
Moreover, the fabricated medical reports by both witnesses indicated that Oyamo had been assaulted by unknown people, leading to him sustaining several blunt injuries.
The said report was allegedly prepared by Cliff Momanyi, who happened to be Moindi’s classmate at the university and now works at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“He asked for details of Oyamo so I handed over the phone to Oyamo who explained to him (Momanyi) his details,” he told the court.
Nonetheless, when asked why he requested his colleague to fabricate the documents, Moindi responded that it was because Oyamo was a friend he knew and he offered to help him because he had told him that he was going to lose his job.
