Alliance Girls High School students marked Valentine’s Day in a special way, receiving flowers and cake from their parents and the school’s administration.
The event, orchestrated by the school’s principal, Jedida Mwangi, included a friendly exchange between the girls and the teaching staff.
Speaking to the press, Principal Mwangi urged the students to prioritize self-love on Valentine’s Day.
She emphasized the importance of loving oneself through challenges and reaching out to others for support.
“I want to emphasize that they should love themselves when they have challenges, they should look out for somebody who they can share with.
“A problem shared is a problem half-solved,” stated the school principal.

The festivities were accompanied by lively music, cake-cutting and a session where teachers imparted words of wisdom and encouragement to the students.

Mwangi also assured parents that the school provides comprehensive support to ensure the well-being of the students, offering guidance and counseling to promote stability.
“In school, we offer guidance and counseling so we can remind them to love themselves. Most of our girls are stable,” Mwangi reassured.

Furthermore, the principal underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing not only academic success but also character development among the students.
She reiterated that their goal is to facilitate the holistic success of the students.

Valentine’s Day, observed annually on February 14th, is traditionally associated with expressions of love and romance.
However, at Alliance Girls High School, it was celebrated as an opportunity for self-love and community support, highlighting the school’s dedication to the well-being and growth of its students.
Across the United States and in other places around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.
The floral Boutique Africa dealer, Moses Kangogo reported that the local market has been hit by flower shortages following the increase in the export market.
Over the Valentine period, Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency reported that the country has so far exported 900 tones of roses.
