Comedian Jemutai has deactivated her social media account after her 11th anniversary celebration in Eldoret.
A spot check by The Kenya Times on August 17, 2026, found that Jemutai’s social media accounts were no longer available.
The development came shortly after she publicly appealed for support following her 11th anniversary celebration in Eldoret.
Jemutai Comedian Appeals to Kenyans After Leaders’ Disappointment
Jemutai said her 11th anniversary celebration was intended to mark her years of making Kenyans laugh, representing her community and entertaining audiences.
In her statement, she said the support she expected from some leaders did not materialize, despite what she said were prior commitments to attend or support the celebration.
Jemutai said the absence was disappointing, particularly because she had seen leaders support other artists.
“Sadly, the support I hoped for from some of our leaders did not come through. Many promised to stand with me, but today, their absence was deeply felt. It is painful, especially when we see our leaders show up for other artists,” she said.
She appealed to Kenyans who have followed and supported her comedy over the past 11 years to support her during the difficult moment.

She said the event left her with financial commitments to service providers and creatives who made the celebration possible.
“We still have commitments to honor to the service providers and creatives who worked tirelessly to make this celebration possible. Please stand with me and support in whatever way you can,” she pleaded.
The comedian asked well-wishers to support her in whatever way they could and provided 0708 814 820 for contributions.
Online Reactions to Jemutai’s Appeal
Jemutai’s appeal for support has continued to attract reactions online, with some users expressing concern after her social media accounts became unavailable.
One Facebook user, Kenda Vin, questioned whether online criticism had contributed to Jemutai deactivating her account, writing that people had been “ruthless with the truth” and asking whether they had no sympathy.
“So, you people have made Jemutai Comedian deactivate her account? You people are ruthless with the truth. Don’t you have any compassion?” He questioned.

Meanwhile, Emc Daily reported that some leaders had come forward to support Jemutai after the anniversary event did not go as planned.
The post listed Governor Wesley Rotich and Senator Aaron Cheruiyot as contributing KSh100,000 each, while another contributor, identified as a chieftain, gave KSh10,000.
Not all reactions were supportive. SG Kiprono questioned Jemutai’s appeal for assistance, saying he had never seen her attend or contribute to an empowerment event.
