President William Ruto has shifted his anti-graft campaign towards the Judiciary, warning to go after corrupt judges he says are turning the court into a safe home haven for corrupt individuals.

President William Ruto accused some judicial officers whom he did not name of being part of a corruption racket.

“There are people in our judicial system who are facilitating corruption by working with the corrupt. That is why certain cases go to certain judges because they are part of the corruption enterprise and the corruption industry in Kenya,” he said.

Moreover, while speaking at the Kakamega State Lodge on Thursday, August 31 the President stated some judges are working with cartels to spread what he termed as ‘Illegal Agenda’.

“I want to tell you, all these collaborators we will deal with them firmly and decisively,” He added.

Likewise, President Ruto noted that judges of the anti-corruption court have become the weaken link on the war against graft.

He accused some judges of using the Judicial system to obtain stay orders and prolong their cases to evade the pursuit of justice.

“And those who have made it an habit to go and hide in court with court orders and all that go around in court, we are going to make sure that judicial officers who facilitate corruption in Kenya must also leave,” the President warned.

Ruto’s War Against Corruption

Similarly, Ruto’s declaration comes barely a week after promising to crush cartels in the sugar industries as part of his efforts to end corruption in the country.

During his tour of Western Kenya, the Head of State launched war against people he described as saboteurs of revival efforts of government-owned sugar industries.

President Ruto vowed to deal with them and ensure the ailing sugar factories in Western Kenya roar back to life.

“Hawa wakora wote watoke. Hio kampuni ni ya wananchi na tutaipangia upya. Hakuna kesi tutaentertain hapo. Wakitaka kuniletea kisirani either wahame Kenya ama nitawaweka jela ama wasafiri waende mbinguni,” Ruto stated.

Which loosely translates to; All these corrupt people in the sugar industry must leave, if they refuse its either they exit Kenya, go to prison or go to heaven.

A statement that has since drawn a lot of disapproval from several entities and sparked online uproar.
