David Ndii, the Chairperson of the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors, dismissed opposition leader Raila Odinga‘s Secretariat Communications Director Dennis Onyango for questioning his performance.
In a statement on X, Onyango questioned how President William Ruto’s government which is full of elites was performing dismally compared to that of former President Mwai Kibaki who were less educated.
Onyango explained that Kibaki stabilized the economy without blaming their predecessors in President Daniel Moi’s government.
“It’s about time PhDs in Ruto State House and Treasury got reexamined. How first or second-degree holders in Kibaki State House managed to stabilize and grow the economy within a year without any reference to Moi ought to be studied right from JSS while Ruto PhDs are examined,” stated Onyango.
In a quick rejoinder, Dr Ndii said Raila’s allies were in government “eating” and not outside.
“Raila groupies were inside eating, not outside throwing stones at dogs and passing cars,” said Ndii.
Further, Ndii responded to another user named Gitonga who slammed him for agreeing to work as Ruto’s economic advisor.
Gitonga wondered how Ndii, who used to be Ruto’s greatest critic, ended up working for the Kenya Kwanza government.
“Things Ndii has said in the past about Ruto one would have imagined his conscience would not allow him to work for someone he has such low regard for – as a matter of principle. Stomach can be a very silly organ,” said Gitonga.
Consequently, Ndii fired back explaining that he is the sole keeper of his conscience.
“I am the sole keeper of my conscience, and Raila does not own copyright of handshakes,” he wrote.

Previously Ndii blamed Kenyans for the high cost of living and the government’s financial woes.
In a statement on X, on November 25, Ndii said he had warned Kenyans of the impact of the huge debt that the Jubilee administration, led by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta had accrued.

Also, he blasted individuals who benefited from some of the blunders adding that they knew full well that the people would pay for those mistakes.
Further, Ndii noted that it was Kenyans who voted in the government, and they therefore ought not to complain about the administration, led by President Ruto.
