Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has revealed the plans for the first 48 hours as President.

Speaking on Sunday, September 28, Gachagua accused the government of forcefully taking land from the MAA Community.

Gachagua promised to return 1300 acres of land, allegedly grabbed from the residents of Kekonyike.

He claimed that certain government officials are selling the land at KShs15 million per acre.

We have talked to all leaders, those who are buying land from the government at Ksh1 million, don’t waste your money. If you buy that land, that money will get lost.  The second day in office, we will cancel all those titles and return the land to the people

They know it is injury time, and they are selling everything because they know they are going home. If you are lured into buying that land, just know that your money will be lost because we shall nullify all those title deeds.

Gachagua also asked the youth to turn out and register as voters from September 28, when the IEBC will commence the continuous voter registration process.

Gachagua  Message to Working Class

He also stated that the middle class have been bystanders in the electoral process for the longest.

Gachagua said the working class stay at home, reads novels, play golf and watch television instead of going to vote.

However, he pointed out that the working class are the greatest victim when things go wrong in governance.

He accused President William Ruto of destroying the middle class and the economy at large.

“I want to make a passionate appeal to our professionals, pay slip holders and middle-class, that you cannot stay at home and wait for the rest of Kenyans to bring meaningful change, you must be part of this transformation. Because when things go well, you are great beneficiaries, but when things go south, the middle-class is incapacitated,” Gachagua said.

“The middle class must lead by example; they must go and register as voters and turn out on the voting day. If they don’t, they should sit down and cry that things are not working in this country.”

Kalonzo Joining Ruto

Gachagua said the DCP-Party, Wiper and DAP-K will discuss and produce one presidential candidate.

He confirmed that President Ruto has been looking for Kalonzo to lure him to join the Broad-Based government.

Gachagua stated that Ruto’s advisors have told him the only way he can win a second term is by having Kalonzo on his side.

Ruto has been looking for Kalonzo. He has been told that since he has lost the Mt. Kenya vote, the only formula available is to go for Kalonzo. With Kalonzo, he can try and see if he can push through, though it’s still a tough task. But without Kalonzo and Riggy, he’s simply a man headed home.

However, Gachagua affirmed that Kalonzo will stand with Kenyans against Ruto in the next polls.

“I have sat down with my brother Kalonzo, he will stand with the people of Kenya to the end. He is patriotic and cannot sell this country,” Gachagua said.

He jokingly said that should Kalonzo decide to become Ruto’s deputy, he will ‘sponsor’ his impeachment just it happened to him.

“If Kalonzo agrees to become Ruto’s deputy, once he gets in, he will bring money to have him impeached. Can anyone really trust this Ruto?” he asked.
