The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially opened registration for repeat grassroots elections in select polling centres across 42 counties.
In a notice dated January 21, by the UDA National Elections Board, the chair, Anthony Mwaura, announced that the move follows a resolution by the party’s National Executive Committee and the Elections and Nominations Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) after irregularities and vacant positions were identified in the recent grassroots polls.
“The Committee resolved that the Party shall conduct repeat elections in SELECT polling centres across the 42 counties on the 7th March 2026 for Phase III elections and on the 28th of March 2026 for Phase II elections. The respective polling centres are detailed in the link:https://app.uda.ke/grassroot-open-positions,” the notice partially read.
UDA Election Dates
According to the notice, Phase III repeat elections are scheduled for 7th March 2026, while Phase II repeats will take place on 28th March 2026.
Registration for the repeat elections began on 21st January 2026 and will close on 21st February 2026.
Additionally, it was noted that party members who were previously registered as aspirants do not need to re-register, but new aspirants must complete registration within the specified period.

All aspirants were urged to confirm whether their polling centres are affected.
“All previously registered aspirants are required to verify if their respective polling centre is affected and thereby participate accordingly,” it emphasised.
Key Counties and Wards for Phase III
Phase III elections on 7th March 2026 will take place in counties including Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo, Laikipia, Nakuru, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, and Vihiga. Notable wards scheduled for fresh polls include Evurore and Muminji in Embu County and West Kabras in Kakamega County.

From the statement, these repeat elections are expected to generate renewed competition, particularly in areas where political rivalries remain strong.
Phase II Counties and Electoral Guidance
Phase II, which repeats on 28th March 2026, will cover Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, Isiolo, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Turkana, Kajiado, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira.
Additionally, the UDA National Elections Board, chaired by Anthony Mwaura, emphasised that all aspirants must comply with registration requirements and verify their polling centres to ensure participation.
