Harambee Stars Coach Issues Warning
Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy had earlier warned that the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon would be a tough encounter.
Speaking during the team’s final preparations at Kasarani on Saturday, March 22, McCarthy acknowledged Gabon’s strength as the second-placed team in Group F but remained confident in his squad’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“It’s going to be a tough game. Gabon is number two in Group F, and they’ve shown dominance. From our last game against Gambia, the boys demonstrated their capabilities.
“Of course, Gabon have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has proven himself at big clubs like Arsenal, Dortmund, and Barcelona, but we are planning everything accordingly,” McCarthy had stated during the pre-match press conference.
