The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has released a five-day weather forecast for the week beginning August 13 to August 17.
According to the met department, Nairobi residents should brace themselves for a continued cold season during the week. In the forecast, Kenya met noted that areas within the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi will experience cold and cloudy nights.
Additionally, the region will experience showers in the afternoon and cloudy mornings that will break into sunny intervals.
These areas will experience a maximum of between 24 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, with lows of between 9 degrees Celsius and 6 degrees Celsius.
Other regions in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka counties.

Kenya Met on Forecast for Other Regions
At the same time, the forecast warns of showers and thunderstorms over several places in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.
The regions will also experience showers over few places at night and rains over few places in the morning.
These regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot counties.
On the other hand, counties in the North-western region including Turkana and Samburu Counties will experience Rains over few places in the morning, showers and thunderstorms over few places in the afternoon and a chance of showers over few places and night.
Also, North-eastern regions including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties will experience sunny mornings and afternoons with cloudy nights according to Kenya met.

Other Regions Listed in the Forecast
South-eastern lowlands including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta counties will experience cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals.
Additionally, the forecast indicated that they would experience sunny intervals in the afternoon and partly cloudy nights.
The Coast region including Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties will experience showers over few places in the mornings, sunny intervals in the afternoons and partly cloudy nights.
