LeapFrog Investments, the pioneering Profit with Purpose investor, has announced its successful exit from Goodlife Pharmacy, East Africa’s largest retail pharmacy platform.
In a statement issued on July 29, LeapFrog Investments announced that Goodlife Pharmacy has been acquired by CFAO Healthcare, a leading distributor of pharmaceutical and medical products across Africa.
“By acquiring 100% of Goodlife Pharmacy, we are accelerating our transformation into a global healthcare player. Together, we will enhance accessibility, service quality, and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector,” said CFAO Healthcare CEO Jean -Marc Leccia.
LeapFrog Investments Announces Full Exit from Goodlife Pharmacy
This full exit follows LeapFrog’s earlier sale of a minority stake in Goodlife to CFAO Healthcare in 2022.
That transaction marked the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two firms, with CFAO now acquiring the remainder of LeapFrog’s shareholding to take full ownership.
LeapFrog first invested in Goodlife in 2017, helping accelerate a modern pharmacy retail category that had not previously existed at scale in East Africa.
By focusing on traceable supply chains and scaling a trusted, consumer-focused brand, the firm has built a category leader that now serves more than 2 million consumers annually.
The exit marks a significant moment for African healthcare, long underfunded and underpenetrated by private capital.
Additionally, the deal has received all necessary regulatory approvals and is effective immediately
