The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a weather update for regions likely to experience rainfall, following recent mudslides and heavy rains observed in some parts of the country over the weekend. In its weather forecast published on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Kenya Met outlined areas expected to receive rainfall from November 4 to November 10, 2025.
The weatherman indicates that rainfall will continue in several parts of the country, notably in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-eastern lowlands, and North-eastern Kenya. Daytime (maximum) average temperatures exceeding 30°C are forecasted for the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya, as well as some parts of the South-eastern lowlands and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
Night-time (minimum) temperatures below 10°C are anticipated in parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and near Mount Kilimanjaro.
Kenya Met Issues 7-Day Weather Update on Regions Likely to Experience Rainfall
In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, which includes counties like Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, and Narok, Kenya Met predicts that sunny intervals will occur in the mornings, though there may be light rains in some areas.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in certain locations during the first half of the forecast period, increasing to several areas later. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy, with possible showers in some places.
Weather Forecast for Nairobi and its Environs
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County and surrounding areas, will likely experience cloudy mornings with occasional rain over a few places, giving way to sunny intervals. Afternoon showers may occur in a few spots during the first half of the forecast period, increasing to several locations thereafter.
Nights are expected to be partly cloudy with possible showers in some areas. Other counties in this region include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi. Counties within North-eastern Kenya, such as Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, may experience morning rains with afternoon and evening showers in some locations.

The South-eastern lowlands, which include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta, and parts of Tana River County, are forecasted to have morning, afternoon, and evening showers in some areas.
During the second half of the period, these showers could spread to more locations.
In the Coast region, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as coastal parts of Tana River County, showers are likely during morning, afternoon, and evening hours in several few places.
