Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., has revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
She shared the deeply personal health update in an emotional statement posted to social media on Wednesday, May 20, in which she said she had a procedure earlier this week and is now working with her medical team to create a treatment plan.
“I want to share a personal health update,” the mother of Kai Trump wrote in the Instagram statement. “I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”
The 48-year-old added that she had already undergone a medical procedure earlier this week and thanked her doctors while remaining optimistic about her recovery.
“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” she wrote. “Thank you for your kindness and support — it truly means more than I can express.”

Ivanka Trump responds after Vanessa Trump announces cancer diagnosis
The announcement quickly sparked an outpouring of support from members of the Trump family and followers online.
Among the first to respond publicly was Ivanka Trump, Vanessa’s former sister-in-law, who commented: “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you, mama.”
Ivanka has spoken warmly about Vanessa for years. In a past interview with People magazine, Ivanka described her as “Wonder Woman,” praising her ability to manage and connect with all five of her children simultaneously.
Vanessa shares five children with Donald Trump Jr. — Kai Trump, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. Vanessa and Donald Jr. divorced in 2018 after 12 years of marriage, but have remained publicly supportive co-parents.
The health revelation comes just days after Vanessa was seen celebrating Kai Trump’s high school graduation in Florida.
Kai, who has built a growing online following and is expected to pursue collegiate golf at the University of Miami, celebrated with an intimate family dinner attended by both parents, as well as Tiffany Trump, her husband Michael Boulos, and Donald Jr.’s fiancée Bettina Anderson.

Vanessa has also remained in the public eye because of her relationship with golf legend Tiger Woods, whom she reportedly began dating in late 2024.
The couple has faced intense media scrutiny in recent months following Woods’ DUI arrest earlier this year and his subsequent rehabilitation treatment program in Switzerland.
Vanessa publicly stood by the golfer during the controversy and even posted a supportive “Love You” message to social media after news of the arrest surfaced.
Sources recently told entertainment outlets that Vanessa and Woods stayed in close contact while he underwent treatment abroad and were “happy to see each other” after his return to Florida.
Woods was reportedly present at Kai Trump’s graduation ceremony earlier this month, though he did not attend the family dinner afterward.
