His Daughter Passes Away
Cyrus Jirongo was born on the 21st of March 1961 in Lugari, Kakamega County. In March, his daughter, Elizabeth Lorraine Khalamwa, also passed away.
At Lorraine’s funeral service at AIC Milimani in Nairobi, Jirongo sparked light moments as he shared the story of how he met and later parted ways with his first wife, Carolyne.
He recalled that Carolyne, Lorraine’s mother, was considered the most beautiful girl in Kitale at the time, and he was drawn to her, eventually marrying her. Jirongo said that life initially went smoothly with Carolyne, and together they had Lorraine as their first child.
Cyrus was polygamous and has four wives, the first one Kalenjin, the second one Kikuyu, the Third one Kamba, and the Fourth a Maasai.

However, he admitted that his habit of noticing other women caused tension that Carolyne could not accept, ultimately leading to their separation.
“I had a bad character. My eyes kept wandering because they were big, so she took off because I had three others. She could not stand my bad character,” he narrated.
Political Career
Additionally, he served as a member of parliament (MP) for the Lugari Constituency on two occasions: from 1997 to 2002 and from 2007 to 2013.
Jirongo later declared an interest in running for President in 2013 and later opted to try the Kakamega senatorial seat, where he lost to Bonny Khalwale.
