The family of the former Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) and Minister for Rural Development Cyrus Jirongo has announced the death of their daughter Elizabeth Lorraine Khalamwa.
Elizabeth Jirongo died on March 10, 2025, after a short illness. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday 19, 2025, from 11 am at AIC Milimani Nairobi.

The burial service will be conducted at the AIC Sinendet Kitale on Friday followed by private internment.
Early Life of Lorraine Elizabeth Jirongo
Elizabeth was born on February 18, 1992.

Lorraine was the mother to Jabari Berur, Michaela Berur, and Aria Jebaibai Berur.
She was sister to Kimani Waiyaki, naisenya Waiyaki, Lemaiyan Waiyaki, Prestone Jirongo, Mercy Jirongo, Judy Jirongo, Sharon Jirongo, and June Jirongo.

Additionally, she is the granddaughter of the late Paul Jirongo and the late Selina Ikonanga.

About Cyrus Jirongo
Cyrus Jirongo was born on the 21st of March 1961 in Lugari, Kakamega County.
He Studied Business Administration at the Cambridge University, United Kingdom (UK). Additionally, he graduated from the University of Egerton in 1986.
Jirongo is a politician and businessman associated with companies such as Sololo outlets and interests in real estate.

Political Career
Additionally, he served as a member of parliament (MP) for the Lugari Constituency on two different occasions: between 1997 and 2002 and from 2007 to 2013.
In 1999, he fell out with KANU and formed the United Democratic Party (UDP).
Moreover, in 2002, he was appointed the Rural Development Minister.
Jirongo later declared an interest in running for President in 2013 and later opted to try the Kakamega senatorial seat where he lost to Bonny Khalwale.
He is polygamous and has four wives, the first one Kalenjin, the second one Kikuyu, the Third one Kamba, and the Fourth a Maasai.
