Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he is going to work with NARC Kenya Party leader Martha Karua.
While addressing a gathering at Karua’s home in Gichugu, Gachagua said that he will consult Karua regularly on matters of interest to the country.
“So good people I want to say that I am happy, we had a good conversation with Martha Karua and we have agreed we are going to work together with other Kenyans,” Gachagua said.

The former Deputy President said that with the NARC Kenya Party leader now on his side, they will build a strong coalition with Kenyans from all regions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Now that we are together, we will create a formidable team with Kenyans, not just here in the mountain but across the country,” Gachagua stated.
At the same time, the former Deputy President dismissed leaders labeling him and his allies from the Mount Kenya region as tribal.
He argued that if he was tribal, he would not have supported President William Ruto, and Martha Karua would not have supported Raila Odinga in the 2022 general elections.
“It is insulting to this community for the President to go around in meetings calling us tribal.
We know he is unhappy, frustrated, and bitter that our people have left him. Even if he keeps calling us tribalists, we had our candidate called Waihiga Mwaura, and we never voted for him. Had we been tribal, as he claims, we would not have voted for him or Raila Odinga,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua also expressed that he does not regret voting for President William Ruto in the 2022 general elections.
He emphasized that his choice demonstrated that the Mt. Kenya region is not tribal. Unlike those who may be regretting their vote for Ruto, he believes it was a positive decision, showcasing the region’s capacity to support leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Karua, on her part, echoed the former Deputy President’s message about uniting citizens from all corners of the country against President Ruto’s regime ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We need everybody, every person of goodwill, to join hands and push back because the rogue Ruto regime is determined to oppress Kenyans. It is a merciless regime that resembles the oppressive colonial regime,” Karua stated.
