Veteran journalist, John Allan Namu has announced the passing on of his mother.
In a statement, the award-winning journalist announced that his mother, Getrude Muthoni Namu died early in the morning of Friday December 6.
It is reported that Namu’s mother died because of Cancer illness.
Following her demise, colleagues from the media industry and Kenyans at large shared a message of condolences to him and his family.
Journalist Lawrence Kitema condoled with his family saying “Poleni sana ndugu. My heartfelt condolences during these difficult times. May mom’s soul rest in peace.” Kitema condoled.

Former Radio Maisha Presenter Mwende Macharia said “My condolences Namu,”.
Former BBC news correspondent Ferdinand Omondi shared “My deepest condolences bro.”
Managing Editor at Nation Media Group Oliver Mathenge expressed “My condolences to you and your family. May she rest well.”
NMG Sports Journalist, Benard Ndong’ also conveyed his message of condolences saying “My sincere condolences bro.”

Economist, Nelson Amenya on his part remarked “Pole sana ndugu. May she fly with the angels.”
Social media X influencer KOT Socha shared “Pole sana ndugu May she rest in eternal peace.”
Another Social media influencer Ace Gitau user added, “Rest well. You gave the world a strong man in John Allan Namu. Pamoja John Allan.”
