The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued an update regarding the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 results.
KNEC, in an update on January 16, said that the printouts for the examinations whose results were released last week have been dispatched to all Sub- County Directors of Education offices countrywide.
Further, the examining body directed schools that presented candidates for the examination to liaise with their SCDEs to collect the printouts
“The 2024 KCSE examination results printouts have been dispatched to all Sub- County Directors of Education (SCDES) offices countrywide. Schools that presented candidates for the examination are advised to liaise with their SCDEs to collect the printouts,” said KNEC.
The update comes hours after KNEC clarified reports that it has released the 2024 KCSE results of Lugulu Girls High School.
Results withheld
Lugulu Girls High School candidates are among the 2,829 KCSE 2024 candidates whose results were withheld after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba released them on January 9.

CS Ogamba stated that the results were withheld due to suspicions of exam irregularities, pending the completion of an investigation within 30 days.
While confirming that the results for the Lugulu Girls were withheld, Western Region Director of Education Jared Obiero said that they will be out soon.
Obiero explained that the withholding of the results means that they are being reviewed and have not yet been approved or rejected.
“The results were pended, and we are sorting out the matter. Let there be no cause of alarm. The results will be out soon,” said Obiero.
Lugulu Girls School’s management on its part appealed to candidates who sat the examinations and their parents to be patient as the school pursues its results through the official appeal channels with the council.
“Dear Parent/Guardian, we are aware that your child has not yet received their examination results. Please rest assured that the matter is being addressed, and the results will be made available to you in due time. Further communication will follow,” read a letter signed by the school principal Dinah Cheruiyot addressed to parents and guardians of the school.

KNEC clarifies Releasing Lugulu Girls KCSE Results
However, KNEC in a notice on January 15, flagged two fake posters purporting that it had released the results for the national school.
“Fake post alert,” KNEC said.
One of the posters claimed that the school recorded and 100 percent transition to university with a mean grade of 10.23.
The poster provided the following results breakdown per grade: A (plain)45, A-(minus) 108, B+ (plus)270, B(plain)=189, B- (minus)=69 and C+ (plus)18.
Similar figures were contained in a different poster that KNEC also flagged as fake.
