The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has dismissed a social media post circulating online that claimed teachers would not be paid in July due to the lack of passing the Finance Bill 2024.
The post, which featured a photo of TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, alleged that she had stated, “Consequences of not passing Finance Bill 2024: 100,000 teachers will not be paid in July.”
In a statement, the TSC clarified that the post was false and assured teachers that they would receive their salaries as scheduled.
The Commission also issued an alert warning the public about fake job offers circulating on social media.
The fake poster has sparked outrage among Kenyans on social media with many expressing their frustration with the alleged actions of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and its CEO, Nancy Macharia.

He also raised concerns about the recruitment process for primary school teachers, stating that graduate teachers have to wait over 10 years to receive employment letters from MPs.
Additionally, he questioned who allowed MPs to run the TSC.
Apaka Oure expressed skepticism about the TSC’s response, saying, “You have never come out to talk about the issue of politicians having blank appointment letters! So let us believe what we want!”
