Elon Musk-owned social network X, popularly known as Twitter, has lowered the requirements for its creator payout program.
In an announcement on Thursday, August 10, X reduced the minimum number of impressions needed to be eligible for ad revenue sharing program.
In the new revenue update, creators now only need a minimum of 5 million impressions within 3 months to become eligible to begin receiving payments.
Further, creators will be able to withdraw as low as $10 instead of the previous $50 before the update.
” Now even more people can get paid to post. We have lowered the eligibility threshold for ads revenue sharing from 15M to 5m impressions within the last three months.
We’ve also lowered the minimum payout threshold from $50 to $10. Sign up for a Premium subscription to get access,” posted X.
However, to qualify for payouts, users still need to be verified, have the blue badge, and have at least 500.
”This essentially means that X Premium (fka Twitter Blue) is free for accounts that generate above 5M views. Note, only views from verified handles count, as scammers will otherwise use bots to spam views to infinity,” Elon Musk tweeted.

How Twitter does calculations
First, the eligible creators who have set up to begin receiving payments will have to first generate enough verified replies.
This means that monetized part of your tweets will come from the replies inside your tweet’s threads.
However, only the replies from verified users will be monetized.
This simply implies that impressions made by verified users inside a creator’s tweet’s threads will earn monetized Ad Revenue.
In addition, this revenue will then be shared directly to the creator’s Stripe Express account.
Once a creator reaches the minimum threshold of $10, you will receive the money directly.
