An accident at the Nairobi Expressway Toll Station at Mlolongo involving an Embasava Sacco bus and a private vehicle left more than 20 people injured.
The Embasava Sacco bus is reported to have been over speeding, when it lost control and rammed into the private vehicle being cleared at the Mlolongo exit.
Moreover, Moja Expressway Company that is behind the construction of the Expressway reported that the bus swerved severally while headed towards the exit and regrettably crashed into one toll booth and one SUV.
Similarly, the Expressway toll station booth was extensively damaged and one toll attendant sustained injuries during the incident.
The said bus was on its way to Kitengela from Nairobi when the accident happened.

However, this is not the first accident to happen at the Nairobi Expressway. Another accident happened on June 26 at the same scene. A private vehicle had rammed into several other vehicles leading to extensive damage.
Moreover, one person died in that same accident while several others were seriously injured.
In addition, the two accidents have been attributed to over-speeding where drivers do not observe the 80km/h speed limit.
Furthermore, while speaking after the first accident, government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna revealed that plans were underway to roll out additional measures to curtail over-speeding at the Expressway.
