Chief Officer for Environment in Nairobi Geoffrey Mosiria has appealed to Nairobi club owners to relocate all nightclubs from estates to the Central Business District.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, Mosiria detailed different reasons why he supports plans to move clubs to the CBD.

One of the objectives, he said, is to revive 24-hour business operations in the capital, hence promoting job creation in the city.
“During Covid, a lot of clubs moved from the CBD to residential areas killing businesses. It is time to restore Nairobi,” he said.

He called upon all club owners to consider moving their businesses to the CBD, paving the way for opportunities for investors to invest in Nairobi.
Mosiria Plan to Relocate Clubs
According to him, small businesses such as hotels, supermarkets, and other businesses that operated around the clock were closed leading to the death of nightlife in CBD.

He stated that more than one million jobs can be created if the plan is implemented. This, according to him, will benefit job seekers such as hotel workers, security personnel, transport operators, and small traders.
Further, Mosiria noted that return of nightclubs will boost the country’s economy.
For him, the return of nightlife will attract more opportunities through increased tax revenue from the businesses, stimulating economic growth in the city center.
He added that restoration of clubs in the capital will result in a 24/7 transport service, presenting more opportunities for matatus and other stakeholders.
According to him, the hallmark of this restoration is that it will drastically reduce noise pollution in residential areas.
This will curb noise pollution in residential areas and ensure thriving businesses in the city.
