Kenyan musician and businesswoman Esther Akoth better known as Akothee has advised all her fellow single mothers on matters development.
Taking to her Facebook, the self-proclaimed President of single mothers told her fellows to invest in building their homes.
In the post, Akothee said a woman with her own home knows where her heart is.
“A woman with her own gate knows where her brain is, a woman with her own car knows her destinations,” she said.
According to Akothee, owning a home is the only way single mothers will gain respect not only from men but also just for themselves.
“A sweet home where you run to hide when the world is coming down. A place where you hide your children from the world’s miracles,” she added.

Further, she advised single mothers to avoid sponsoring businesses belonging to their lovers and instead build houses for themselves.
“Before you take a loan to build your man’s business, build a home first. Control how your heart feels and let love come later on,” she said.

Additionally, the musician made fun of her breakup with Omosh saying that she was at least left with houses for her pigs, chicken and other things.
“Si unaona nimewachiwa Nyumba ya nguruwe ,nguruwe , kuku, na the rest. Kama ningekuwa naishi kwake jee ,ningeondoka na nini kama si uhuru bag,” she wrote.
This loosely translates to “As you can see I was left with a pigsty, my pigs, chicken and the rest. What if I lived in his house? What could I have been left with if not an uhuru (polythene) bag.”
She also told single mothers to avoid copying her life and instead watch her moves.

Akothee Graduation Updates
Prior to her advice, the musician had issued an update regarding her graduation at Mount Kenya University.
Furthermore, she shared a notice from the institution to graduands informing them to collect their graduation gowns between November 27 and December 6, 2023.
In addition, the graduands were directed to return the gowns before December 22 adding that any delay will attract a daily charge of Ksh.500.
“I can’t believe I did it, I will take this gown and return it on January 22 because the Ksh.500 fine is not a problem,” he said.
Besides, she outlined the importance of education and asked those who have seen her name on the graduation list to inform her.
