Influencer and content creator Georgina Njenga has told off her social media in-laws and fans who criticize her parenting skills. The mother of one, through her Instagram, opened up about how often she has been labeled a bad mother for choosing some enjoyment.
She expressed her frustrations, saying that such remarks are cruel and make one feel incapable of properly raising their child, leading to constant guilt. Adding that constantly asking a mother about their child whenever they are out with friends is mom-shaming.
“First of all asking a mum where she left her baby while trying fun is mum shaming since you all try to create mum guilt in us. Apart from holding the title mum, we have a lot of other things to offer,” she wrote.
Further, according to her, the situation is made worse because, as a mother, she dedicates the most time to the child and still gets criticized, but the same energy is never directed to fathers.

“It’s crazy, I can be in the house six out of seven days, but that one day, everyone will try to make me feel bad for going out, and it’s all crazy because her dad never gets the same questions when he’s out with his friends.”
She also narrated her struggle with postpartum depression because of staying indoors after giving birth and explained that she solely cared for the child without the help of a nanny for fear of being labeled lazy.
She also said she blamed her boyfriend/ baby daddy Tyler Mbaya, also known as Baha, during her depressive state until she sought help.
She remains unfazed by social media monitors and was keen to remind them just how young she is, adding that she’s still trying to achieve her dreams and will live her life fully each time the opportunity arises. She has also encouraged other young moms to let loose and enjoy life.
