Nation Media Group has announced the premiere of a new comedy series, A Nurse Toto, set to air on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 8:00 pm on NTV.

A Nurse Toto is a Kenyan comedy that humorously explores generational differences, blending witty dialogue with relatable family dynamics.

“A Nurse Toto is premiering on Saturday, 10th May at 8:00 PM right here on NTV,” the station announced.

The new show will take over the time slot previously held by Churchill Show, a long-running and popular Kenyan comedy program.

NTV Unveils A Nurse Toto Comedy Series

The Swahili comedy-drama series uses humour to show the challenges in the Kenyan healthcare system and the everyday lives of nurses.

Kenyan comedian and producer Eddie Butita excited fans by announcing that the popular comedy series will officially premiere on NTV on May 10th.

Taking to his social media accounts, Butita shared the announcement and thanked fans for their support ever since its early days as an online series.

“The wait is almost over; A Nurse Toto Season 3 is coming soon! But first, we have another incredible announcement: A Nurse Toto Season 1 & 2 will officially premiere on NTV starting this Saturday at 8 PM,” he said.

Further, he expressed his gratitude to NTV Kenya for believing in the project, saying they were ready to inspire, entertain, and make history together, and that “the best is yet to come”.

“It’s time to bring this magic to every corner of Kenya. Let the entire nation experience the brilliance of a super-talented team that poured heart and soul into creating Kenya’s favorite series,” he added.

About Churchill Show

The Churchill Show made its comeback in 2024 after a two-year break, with its timeslot on Saturday 8 p.m. The show is led by Daniel Ndambuki, popularly known as the father of modern Kenyan comedy.

The Churchill Show first aired on NTV in 2007 and ended in May 2022. The show aired from 8:00-9:00 pm every Sunday until 2018 when it was paused to give room for the 2018 World Cup.

Daniel Ndambuki left NTV and moved the show to TV47 in 2022 after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comedy Career Background of Churchill

Ndambuki started as an actor, and he was featured in the popular shows “Red Corner” and “Redyculass” alongside Kajairo.

In 1995, he started the Laugh Industry, where he scripted comedy content for audiences. However, the journey was not easy as the comedy industry did not have sustainable returns.

Additionally, he auditioned in 2008, for a role in a KBC show, and he landed a role as a drunk Bwana Asava in Kisulisuli.

He would later launch his stand-up comedy show, “Churchill Show,” which airs on NTV. It quickly gained popularity and has attracted a large viewership across Kenya and beyond.

Through Churchill’s show, he has nurtured many comedians who are now popular such as Eric Omondi, Terence Creative, and MCA Tricky among others. He also started Churchill Academy, to nurture young talent in the comedy industry.
