The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced that all applications for study deferments, course changes, and campus transfers will now be done online through its official admissions portal.
In a statement released on April 21, the college said the move is meant to simplify the admissions process while protecting students from misinformation and fraudsters posing as KMTC agents.
The institution explained that students who want to defer their studies, change courses, or move to another campus must submit their requests only through the admissions portal.
The college noted that all these services are now available online and no longer handled manually or through third parties.
“The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) informs all applicants that requests for a change of campus, a change of course, or a deferment of studies are now submitted through the official KMTC admissions portal,” read part of the statement.

How to Apply Online
According to KMTC, applicants should start by logging into the admissions portal using their official login details. Once logged in, open the menu at the top-left of the screen and select the service they want.
Applicants can then choose whether to apply for a deferment, a course change, or a campus transfer. After filling in the required details, they should submit the application through the portal.
The college cautioned that applications are not reviewed immediately. After submission, the request will show as “submitted” while it is being reviewed by the Admissions Office.
Students are advised to wait for official communication and avoid following up through unofficial channels.
The institution said applicants will receive a text message once a decision is made, informing them whether their request has been approved or denied.
In addition, the college noted that applications for course or campus changes are not automatically approved. Approval depends on whether there is available space in the chosen course or campus.
The institution also confirmed that applications to defer studies for the September 2026 intake are currently closed.
“Approval for a change of campus or course depends on the availability of space in the selected option. Requests for deferment for September 2026 remain closed,” stated KMTC.
Students who need more information were advised to seek help only through official KMTC communication channels and to rely only on information shared through authorized platforms.

KMTC Warns Over Fake Admission Messages
KMTC also warned students about fake admission letters and individuals posing as admission agents for a fee.
The college raised concerns about posts circulating on social media featuring fake documents and WhatsApp contacts claiming to process admissions, transfers, course changes, and deferrals on behalf of the institution.
KMTC clarified that these documents and contacts are fake and not connected to the institution. The college stressed that all admissions decisions and services are handled only through official KMTC systems and recognized offices.
Applicants were warned to ignore messages directing them to personal phone numbers, unofficial email addresses, or social media accounts that claim to help with deferrals or changes to courses and campuses.
The college urged students to regularly check their portal accounts and registered phone numbers for updates and to ensure they provide accurate information.
The college said the online system is expected to make the admissions process faster, more transparent, and safer for applicants.
