The Kenya government has continued to digitize access to public services through the Huduma Kenya Service by Appointment (SBA) platform.
Citizens can now reserve service slots before visiting Huduma Centers through the online platform.
Through the appointment system, Kenyans can schedule visits for services such as National ID replacement, KRA PIN registration, Certificates of Good Conduct, Social Health Authority (SHA) services, and other government services available at Huduma Centers countrywide.
According to the government service provider, the online system is designed to reduce congestion at service centers, cut waiting times, and improve customer experience.
“Time is money, and at Huduma Centers we value yours. That’s why you can book an appointment on https://appointment.hudumakenya.go.ke/SBA and access services at your convenience,” a Huduma Kenya notice dated August 15 read.
Statistics on the appointment portal show that 172,773 bookings were made in the last week, while 26,189,781 appointments have been booked since the platform’s inception.
The booking platform also reports a customer satisfaction rate of 86.40 percent for the online booking service.

How to Book a Huduma Kenya Appointment
The appointment process begins with a visit to the Huduma Kenya Service by Appointment portal.
Active, registered users can log in with their eCitizen credentials, using their National ID details and email, while first-time users must create an account.
To register, a new user must provide a National ID number, an active mobile phone number, and a password.
The system then sends an activation code via SMS to verify the account and complete registration.
After logging in, the applicant enters the required personal information and then selects a preferred Huduma Center.
Through the platform, the user selects the required service and an available appointment date and time.
The applicant must also indicate their county of residence, confirm the details provided, and click the “Save Appointment” button to complete the process.
After successfully uploading the information, the system sends a confirmation SMS and generates an appointment slip with the scheduled date, time, and booked service details.
Booking an appointment through the official Huduma Kenya portal is free. However, citizens who require assistance with online booking can access support at Huduma Center cyber stalls for a standard fee of KSh150.
According to the Huduma Kenya, the KSh 150 fee only applies to booking assistance and does not cover charges associated with government services.
Any payments required for government services are processed separately through the eCitizen platform, depending on the service being sought.

Appointment Day Requirement
Successful applicants who booked services through the SBA platform are advised to arrive at their chosen Huduma Center before the scheduled appointment time.
The citizen requiring service must also provide their original identification documents and any supporting documents required for the specific service they intend to access.
Visitors must also present their appointment confirmation SMS or printed appointment slip upon arrival.
The confirmation enables customer service officers to direct applicants to the relevant service counters, ensuring faster, more efficient service, according to the service providers.
