Marriott International is bringing a new level of luxury to Kenya’s safari scene with the launch of two high-end camps.
The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp and the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp will be developed in partnership with the Lazizi Group of Companies, marking a big step in Marriott’s expansion into Africa’s luxury travel market.

Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Marriott International, said the decision was driven by the rising demand for outdoor luxury experiences.
“Building off of the incredible success we have seen thus far in our luxury safari portfolio in Africa and the growing appetite for outdoor lodging and nontraditional hospitality experiences, the signing of these agreements with Lazizi Group of Companies marks another milestone in Marriott International’s growth,” he said.

Set to open in early 2026, the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp will offer an unparalleled luxury safari experience in the heart of the Solio Game Reserve.

Nestled within a 45,000-acre wildlife sanctuary and the 19,000-acre Solio Ranch Conservancy, the camp will provide guests with an intimate connection to nature, surrounded by one of the world’s most successful rhino conservation programs.
