The five newborn babies of a youthful couple from Nakuru who were born on Tuesday, January 31 have died.
Monica Kinyanjui, the sister to the father of the children said two of the babies passed on in the morning while the other three died in the afternoon .
“It is unfortunate that we have lost the babies. All we can say for now is that God gives and God takes,” she said.

She further thanked well wishers who showed up and supported the couple when the babies were delivered.
“I thank those who came and supported my brother. Unfortunately now that the children are no longer there, I would like to ask them (well wishers) to please help my brother get a job because his is a young family and he has to take care of his remaining children and wife,” she said.
The babies born to News Simon Ndung’u Kinyanjui and his wife Margaret Wairimu were delivered at seven months and were on life support in incubators.
The four girls and one boy weighed between 500 grams and 650 grams at birth.
Nakuru Level V Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Aisha Maina said underweight babies born prematurely have limited survival chances because their internal organs are usually not fully developed.
