Jacob Ngwele is a Kenyan, currently working as the Chief Legal Advisor at the County Government of Isiolo.
He was shortlisted for the position of chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
He appeared before the IEBC Selection Panel chaired by Dr. Nelson Makanda on March 25, 2025.

In 2005, he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Karnatak University Dharwad in India.
Moreover, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Indore, India, graduating in 2002.
In 2006, he graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law
Additionally, he is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Indore, India, in 1999, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from Tulane Law School in the USA, where he graduated in 2017.
Work Experience
Currently he is the Chief Legal Advisor at the County Government of Isiolo, a position he acquired in 2023.
Moreover, in 2022, he became the Managing Partner at JN & P Law Advocates LLP.
He has worked as a Consultant in Legal/Legislative Practice at the Legislative Centre since 2016.
From 2013-2022, he worked as a Clerk of the Nairobi County Assembly
Additionally, from 2014-2017 Principal Legal Counsel at the Parliament of Kenya and from 2009-2012, he worked as the Clerk Assistant at the Parliament of Kenya
