The County Government of Vihiga through the county Public Service Board has announced one hundred jobs for qualified persons.
According to an advert by the county, the jobs are from 7 departments in the devolved unit.
Notably, the department of Physical planning, lands housing and urban development has 27 opportunities.
These include one position for Municipal Manager, County Director of Physical Planning, A permanent position for Principal Superintending Engineer (Civil) and Assistant Director of Physical Planning and a Municipal Environmental Officer, Land Survey Assistant I
Assistant Civil Engineer II, ICT Officer, Land Valuer, Land Survey Assistant I, Land Officer Assistant III, Estates Management/Housing Officer I, Survey Field Assistant III, Physical Planner II, Draughtsman, Support Staff.

Additionally, the Department of Agriculture has 35 positions in which all are permanent.
Fisheries Officer (1), Assistant Fisheries Officer III (2), Fisheries Assistant II (3), Livestock Production Officer (2), Assistant Livestock Production Officer (5).
Others include, Agribusiness officer (1), Agriculture Officer II (3), Assistant Agricultural Officer II (10).
Nonetheless, the Finance Department has 2 vacancies while the Department of Water Energy Natural Resources and Climate Change has only one, that of Director of Environment, Energy and Natural Resources.
In the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, there is an opportunity for Director of Supply Chain Management and Director Revenue.
Besides, the Department of Gender Culture Youth Sports Children and Social Services has 21 vacancies.
They include, Director Culture and Library Services (1), Assistant Director Culture and Library Services (1), Assistant Director Sports (1), Sub-County Cultural Officers (3), Assistant Director Youth Affairs (1), Sub County Youth Development Officer (5) Secretary (1) Sub County Sports Officers (5) Disability Officers (2) Driver (1).
Other Vacancies in the County
In addition, the Department of Medical Services has 8 vacancies.

They include, one for Deputy Director-Medical Services, one for County Nursing Officer/Manager and six for Ambulance Drivers.
Also, the County Policing Authority has 6 vacancies which offer two years renewable contracts.
They include one qualified person in The Business Sector, Community Based Organizations, Women, Persons with Special Needs, Religious Organizations’ and The Youth.

Interested candidates are asked to visit the official county government website to get the application form, job specifications and the key responsibilities of their target jobs.
Notably the Wilber Ottichilo led government stated that all applications from the interested and qualified candidates are to be submitted on or before January 23, 2024.
Furthermore, the public service board noted that only shortlisted candidates would be invited for interview.
