Kenya Ports Authority Announces 194 Internship Opportunities: How to Apply

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has announced 194 internship opportunities across various departments for a period of up to 12 months, starting in April 2026.

In a March 10 notice, KPA said the programme is designed to equip young people with hands-on skills and exposure to real-world work environments in the maritime and logistics sectors.

“KPA is pleased to announce 194 internship/apprenticeship vacancies across various departments. The objective of the Kenya Ports Authority internship/apprenticeship program is to provide young adults with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to the real workplace environment,” read part of the notice.

KPA stated that the internship programme is part of its efforts to support youth development and build capacity in the maritime and logistics sectors.

All applications must be submitted on or before March 27, 2026.

Kenya Ports Authority Opens Internship Vacancies Across Departments

The internship programme offers opportunities across departments; each aligned with specific fields of study.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the internship, applicants must:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen and not older than 27 years.

  • Have graduated with a first degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized institution between January 2023 and December 2025.

  • Not have participated in any internship or gained work experience in their field of study since graduation.

  • Not have retired or exited from formal employment.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should apply online only via the Kenya Ports Authority career portal: https://forms.office.com/r/1awDBvkMqZ.

Fill in the following in the Google form:

  • First Name – Enter your first name.

  • Second Name – Enter your middle name.

  • Last Name – Enter your surname.

  • Age – Enter your age (must be less than 28 years).

  • Gender – Select your gender from the options provided.

  • Person Living with Disability (PWD) – Indicate Yes or No.

  • Identification Number – Enter your ID number (numeric value).

  • Telephone / Mobile Number – Enter a valid phone number (numeric value).

  • Email Address – Enter a valid email address.

  • County of Origin – Select your home county from the drop-down list.

  • Ethnicity – Select your ethnicity from the provided options.

The Authority stated that it will not offer employment after completion of the internship program.

Successful candidates are required to complete the full 12-month internship to gain the intended benefits of the program.

Incomplete applications will not be considered, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
