The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has announced 217 job vacancies in a new recruitment drive targeting key departments across the institution.
In a notice on March 10, the ODPP said the positions are part of a plan to strengthen service delivery under its mandate to provide impartial, effective, and efficient prosecution services.
The office operates under the ODPP Act, which gives the Director authority to appoint, supervise, and promote staff needed for its functions.

The largest number of openings is for Prosecution Counsel, with 140 slots available under grade DPP 7.
The role supports the primary role of the ODPP, including handling criminal cases in courts across the country.
The recruitment is expected to increase the number of prosecutors deployed to high‑volume stations.

In addition, the ODPP is also seeking 25 clerical officers under grade DPP 11 to support registry, data handling, and general office administration.
The final category is 26 posts for office assistants under grade DPP 13, who will support day‑to‑day operations across ODPP stations.
Five vacancies are available for accountants under grade DPP 8, and successful applicants will handle financial reporting and compliance within the ODPP.
Another four positions have been set aside for supply chain management officers who will support procurement and logistics functions.
The research unit is seeking four officers under grade DPP 8 to strengthen evidence‑based operations and legal research.
The audit department is also looking for two officers to support internal checks and financial accountability.
The ODPP has announced that the Information Communication Technology department has five openings for officers under grade DPP 8.
Public affairs and corporate communication has another five vacancies, targeting officers who will handle media relations, publications, and public information tasks.
The ODPP is also seeking 25 clerical officers under grade DPP 11 to support registry, data handling, and general office administration.

The final category is 26 posts for office assistants under grade DPP 13, who will support day‑to‑day operations across ODPP stations.
ODPP Issues Directives
In the advert, the ODPP stated that applications will only be submitted online.
The ODPP warned that it will not accept hard copy submissions.
“Interested and qualified persons are requested to make their applications online, and no hard copy applications will be accepted, through the provided link on the ODPP website www.odpp.go.ke careers page or https://jobs.prosecutions.go.ke/. Applications should reach the Office on or before March 30, 2026, by 5.00 p.m. (East African Time),” read part of the statement by the ODPP.
Applicants are required to apply through the careers page on the ODPP website or through the dedicated jobs portal, jobs.prosecutions.go.ke.
All applications must be completed within the deadline.
The office noted that shortlisted candidates will be asked to present original identification, academic certificates, transcripts, and professional documents during interviews.
Applicants from minority and marginalised communities, as well as persons with disabilities, have been encouraged to apply, in line with Article 232 of the Constitution, which promotes inclusivity and representation in public service.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Renson Ingonga, said the recruitment will support ongoing efforts to improve efficiency in prosecution services.
