President William Ruto and a number of his Cabinet Secretaries have announced new appointments and reappointments across government agencies.
In a Kenya Gazette dated June 5, leadership changes were made across sectors including technology, health, sports, and regional development.
At the Konza Technopolis Development Authority, President Ruto appointed Abdul Bahari Ali as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board.
According to the notice, the newly appointed non-executive chairperson of the board, appointed under the Konza Technopolis Development Authority Order of 2012, will serve for a fixed term of three years effective from June 5.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 (1) (a) of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority Order, 2012, I, William Samoei Ruto, appoint Abdul Bahari Ali as the Non-Executive Chairperson,” the Kenya Gazette notice read.
Government Appointments and CS Reshuffles in Health and Education Sectors
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, under the Social Health Insurance Act of 2023, appointed Khatra Ali Abdi and Dr. Angeline Chepchirchir for three-year terms as members of SHA.
Following Aden Duale’s recent appointments, the 2025 appointments to the SHA leadership have been formally revoked.
Further, in the education sector, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, has appointed George Ndung’u Thuku as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kiambu National Polytechnic Council.
The appointment of George Ndung’u Thuku comes after the revocation of the appointment of the previous Kiambu National Polytechnic Council chairperson, Francis Kigo Njega.

Changes in Sport Sector
In addition, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya appointed Carl Tundo as the Chief Executive Officer of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Project after the revocation of Charles Gacheru.
Carl Tundo is a rally driver known for his excellence. As the newly appointed CEO, Carl Tundo will also serve as the Secretary to the Oversight Team for the WRC project.
Government Appointments in Regional Developments
East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe has issued reappointments for the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA).
During the changes in KVDA, the CS has reappointed seven members for a one-year term, including Justina Chepnyango, Reuben Chepsongol, Rosemary Nchinyei Parengiro, Christine Jepkoech, Amb. John Lanyasunya, Shadrack Kiptugen, and Simon Kalekem.
Additionally, the CS reappointed Aden Sugow Ahmed, Lina Adikento Marleni, and Melus Lodungokiok to the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin Development Authority.
Further, Ali Abdalla Mondo was reappointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Maritime Authority for a three-year term by the Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy, Hassan Ali Joho.
Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Eric Muriithi Mugaa reappointed Mbarak Hamid to the Coast Water Works Development Agency board.

Governance Changes in Counties
Governor Arthur Johnson Sakaja reappointed six members to the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company board, including Johnstone Alusiola Mukabwa and Emmah Mukuhi Muthoni, for a three-year term.
Additionally, in Vihiga County, Governor Wilber Ottichilo established a climate governance under the Vihiga County Climate Change Act, 2025, by appointing a Climate Change Steering Committee.
In the committee, Governor Wilber Ottichilo will serve as Chairperson, the Deputy Governor as Vice-chairperson, and several CECMs as members.
Leadership in Legal Department
According to the Gazette notice, the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Winfridah B. Mokaya, notified the public of the appointment of ninety-nine (99) Advocates of the High Court as Commissioners for Oaths.
The Land Cabinet Secretary, Alice Wahome, announced a new Community Land Adjudication Program for parts of Isiolo County, including Oldonyiro and Ngaremara, as well as a land registration program for local communities.
