Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Party Coalition presidential running mate, Martha Karua has accused President-Elect William Ruto of committing an illegality by enticing opposition members into his Kenya Kwanza camp
Karua accused Ruto of violating the Political Parties Act.
“It is unfortunate for anybody who aspires to lead this country, and for someone who is a deputy president of the outgoing government, to break the laws of the country” she said.
She called out on those quitting Azimio to join Kenya Kwanza to look at the Political Parties Act, under which coalitions are built
She noted that the ACT has very clear stipulations that guide movement of individuals from one political outfit to another
“So for the deputy president to start wooing people, enticing them to leave a coalition without the requisite legal provisions, it’s either a display of impunity or gross ignorance of the law of the land,” she added.
Karua hit out at the resident -Elect of of feigning ignorance of the law as a cover for acts that she described as leaning towards impunity.
“I would urge the deputy president of an outgoing government to acquaint himself with the law of the land, or asks his advisors for better advice” she said.
