Issa Timamy Abdallah is a Kenyan politician and the Lamu County governor.
Politically, he served as the Governor of Lamu County from 2013 to 2017, lost the seat in 2017, and was re-elected to the position in 2022.
He was born on September 12, 1958, in Mkomani, Lamu County.
Educational Background of Issa Timamy
Issa Abdallah Issa Timamy began his education at Lamu Primary School and then attended Sacred Heart Primary School.
He proceeded to Allidina Visram High School in Mombasa, where he completed his secondary education.
Timamy then pursued legal studies at the University of Nairobi, earning his Bachelor of Laws degree, followed by professional legal training at the Kenya School of Law in 1984
Career
Timamy embarked on his professional journey as a company secretary and director at the Sameer Group of Companies in Nairobi, where he gained significant experience in corporate governance and management.
In 2005, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at the National Museums of Kenya.
He served in that capacity until 2012, at which point he resigned to enter elective politics.
In the 2013 general election, Timamy contested for the position of Governor of Lamu County under the United Democratic Forum (UDF) ticket.
He won and became the inaugural governor of Lamu under Kenya’s devolved system.
Issa Timamy served his first term from 2013 until the 2017 election, in which he lost the seat.

However, he mounted a successful comeback in the August 2022 elections, recapturing the gubernatorial seat by defeating incumbent Fahim Yasin Twaha.
His return to office as governor commenced shortly thereafter.
In October 2022, following the nomination of Musalia Mudavadi to the national cabinet, Timamy was appointed acting leader of the Amani National Congress (ANC) party, having previously served as a deputy party leader
