Joseph Namuar Emathe is a first-term Member of Parliament representing Turkana Central Constituency in Turkana County.
He was elected in the August 2022 general election and is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Before entering parliament, he had experience as a program coordinator with the USADF Technical Assistance and had been involved in the Turkana County government for approximately seven years.

Joseph Namuar began his education at Nakurio Primary School in Turkana County, where he studied from 1989 to 1993, earning his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
He then attended Moi High School – Kabarak in Nakuru County between 1994 and 1997, completing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In 1999, he enrolled at Moi University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) degree in 2003.
Namuar continued his academic journey by studying at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Pretoria, where he achieved an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies between 2008 and 2011.
Later, he pursued postgraduate education at the University of Nairobi, earning a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management between 2010 and 2012.
Career Path
Following his academic advancement, Emathe joined World Vision Kenya, where he began as an Intern in 2003–2004, then progressed to Development Facilitator from 2005 to 2007, and subsequently served as Programme Manager from 2007 to 2013.
He then worked with the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) as Programme Coordinator under Cezam & Company Associates between 2013 and 2014.
In 2014, he transitioned to the public sector in Turkana County, serving as County Chief Officer for Finance & Economic Planning (2014–2016), then County Chief Officer for Water Services, Irrigation & Agriculture (2016–2017), and County Executive Committee Member for Water Services, Environment & Mineral Resources (2017–2018).

He was later appointed County Executive Committee Member for Finance & Economic Planning, serving from 2018 to 2022.
In August 2022, Emathe was elected Member of Parliament for Turkana Central Constituency under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
