Lydia Haika is a Kenyan politician and the Woman Representative for Taita Taveta County under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

Political career
Haika first made her political debut in August 2017, when she was elected as Taita Taveta County Woman Representative.

She served her first term between 2017 and 2022, during which she contributed to multiple parliamentary committees, including Finance and Planning, Sports Tourism and Culture, and Appointments.
She was re-elected in 2022, winning with approximately 55.8% of the vote and securing 38,363 votes, a decisive victory over her closest rival.
In November 2022, Haika was elected chairperson of the National Assembly’s Diaspora Affairs and Migrant Workers Committee, a role that aligns with her background in international relations and leadership.
Haika launched a “unity initiative” in May 2025, aimed at reconciling women and youth across party lines in Taita Taveta.
She explained that political rivalry had previously fragmented development efforts and called for a spirit of cooperation to drive regional progress.
Further, in May 2025, she publicly opposed a petition seeking the dissolution of the county government, arguing instead for dialogue among stakeholders, religious leaders, elders, and civic actors, as the sustainable path forward.
