Abdul Karo is a Kenyan politician and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mandera South Constituency, Mandera County.
Early Life & Education
Haro Abdul Ebrahim attended the University of Nairobi from 1992 to 1997 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
He later pursued a Master of Arts in International Conflict Management at the same institution from 2008 to 2010.
In 2020, he completed a certificate program in the Political Economy of Institutions and Development at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Career
In 2003, Abdul Karo began his professional career as a Governing Council member at the Kenya Cultural Centre before transitioning to become a Reducing Vulnerability Programme Coordinator in 2004 at Practical Action Eastern Africa.
From November 2009 to June 2010, Abdul became a Peacebuilding Coordinator at the Japan Center for Conflict Prevention.
In 2015, he was the spokesperson for the Mandera County Government, and from 2013 to 2022, he served as Head of Programme at the Danish Refugee Council.
Political career
In August 2022, Haro was elected to the 13th Parliament as the Member of Parliament for Mandera South, representing the Economic Freedom Party (EFP).
In Parliament, he serves on several key committees:
