David Pkosing Losiakou is a Kenyan politician and currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pokot South Constituency in West Pokot County.
Early life and educational background
David Pkosing began his schooling at Kabichbich Primary School, completing his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1989.
He then joined Mother of Apostles Seminary, where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 1993.
Pkosing pursued higher education at Moi University, earning a Bachelor of Education degree between 1995 and 1999.
His interest in development led him to the Republic of Ireland, where he obtained a Higher Diploma in Development Studies in 2003.
He later advanced his expertise in conflict resolution by earning a Master’s degree in Peace Studies from Bradford University in the United Kingdom in 2005 and graduated in 2007.
Career
Pkosing’s career started in the civil service in 1995, where he worked at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) as a senior officer till 2000.

In 2000, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), where he served until 2004, overseeing reforms in aviation safety and compliance.
He entered politics in 2013, successfully contesting the Pokot South parliamentary seat under the Kanu ticket, becoming the first MP of the newly created constituency.
He retained his seat in 2017 on a Jubilee Party ticket, and again in 2022 under the KANU party, serving in the 13th Parliament.
Over his tenure, he has served on various parliamentary committees, including the Transport, Public Works, and Housing Committee, where he chaired discussions on road infrastructure and aviation.
Pkosing is a Ford Foundation Fellow and was honored with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) in 2016 for his contributions to national development.
