Michelle Kamene Goro, popularly known as Kamene Goro, is a radio presenter, media executive, event host, and digital influencer, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NRG Radio and hosting the the show NRG Transit.

Kamene Goro was born on March 24, 1992, and is a 34-year-old who was raised in Nairobi’s South C estate, with her family later living in areas including Woodley and Karen.

Kamene Goro Background, Early Life, and Family

Kamene is the middle child in a family of three. She has an older brother and a younger sister, Natasha Goro.

Her father is a respected structural engineer, Eng. Goro, while her mother, Victoria Goro, has worked in the media and film industry, including roles at the Kenya Film School and the MultiChoice Talent Factory. She has received national recognition for her work.

Kamene married DJ Bonez, whose real name is David Pyper, in a private ceremony in April 2023, which was widely publicized.

The couple has been together since around 2020. While Kamene has no biological children, she is part of a blended family and has openly embraced DJ Bonez’s two children from a previous relationship.

Education

Kamene attended Rusinga International School for both her primary and secondary education.

According to Kamene, although she had a strong personal interest in journalism, she pursued a more conventional professional path by enrolling for a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of Nairobi.

“Always wanted to do Broadcast Journalism. My parents thought I should do a solid degree so Law it was. Parents also thought after years of private school, it was time for public school to balance out. So from Rusinga School to UoN Law School. Culture shock at first but then turned out to be the best 4 years of my life,” said Kamene in a previous interview.

After graduating, she worked as a paralegal at Simani & Co Advocates for about 6 months before deciding not to pursue a long-term career in law and instead fully committing to media.

Career

Kamene Goro began her media career at just 21, joining Ebru TV as a news anchor and presenter while still a university student, making her one of the youngest broadcasters in Kenya at the time.

Kamene worked at the station for nearly nine years, gaining experience in television hosting and live broadcasting.

She later transitioned to radio and became known as a breakfast show co‑host on stations including NRG Radio and Kiss FM, earning a loyal audience through conversations on relationships, sex, money, lifestyle, and personal growth.

In April 2024, Kamene Goro returned to NRG Radio in a powerful new capacity as the station’s CEO, while continuing her on-air presence as the host of NRG Transit.

Celebrating the milestone, she acknowledged the moment with gratitude, stating: “The year 32 has come with all the blessings.”

This was her reaction shortly after NRG Radio officially announced her return as CEO on April 1, 2024.

She posted it while expressing gratitude for the new role and the support she received. The station’s announcement post famously read:

“She is back home!! Join us in welcoming Kamene Goro, who is joining NRG Radio as CEO,” wrote NRG Radio in a post.

Beyond radio and television, she is an event host, club MC, brand ambassador, and social media influencer with over 1.3 million followers on Instagram, where she shares lifestyle content, opinions, and details about her professional engagements.

Kamene Goro Net Worth

Kamene Goro has not publicly shared her exact net worth, but estimates suggest she could be worth between KSh 7.5 million and KSh 100 million, based on her work in radio and TV, her role as a media executive, brand endorsements, event hosting, and partnerships with companies.

Kamene Goro is well known for her taste in luxury cars, particularly her strong preference for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

She owned several, including a Mercedes-Benz E350 AMG that she acquired for approximately KSh 5 million, as well as an E200 and a C180 in the past. These remain her most publicly associated rides.

In 2022, she proudly showed off her elegant 3-bedroom apartment located in one of Nairobi’s upscale estates during a house tour.

She has also shared moments of moving into new homes over the years, although specific details about her current property ownership are not extensively documented in public reports.

Kamene has publicly stated that she has earned seven‑figure monthly salaries during periods in her radio career.

This was said in March 2025 during an appearance on a cooking show hosted by food enthusiast Boina.

When asked if she would consider hosting a Kiswahili radio show for KSh 1 million per month, Kamene responded confidently, “I have been paid more than that…Radio is a very lucrative career where you can earn good money,” confirming she had previously earned a seven-figure salary in her radio career.
